World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid, Spain

The Archdiocese of New Orleans, through the CYO/Youth & Young Adult Ministry Office, will sponsor a trip to World Youth Day 2011 with the Holy Father in Madrid, Spain. This pilgrimage is for young adults age 18-35; in Europe, “youth” refers to college-age and older young adults. This trip is a joint collaboration with the Dioceses of Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Alexandria.

ITINERARY: 2011
• Spring 2011: Pilgrimage preparation meetings in your local Louisiana diocese
• August 13-14: Travel to Madrid
• August 15: Local celebrations of the Feast of the Assumption such as Festival of La Virgen of La Paloma
• August 16: WYD Opening Liturgy in Madrid
• August 17-19: WYD events, catechetical sessions, etc.
• August 20: pilgrimage walk and candlelight vigil with the Holy Father
• August 21: closing Mass
• August 22: Return travel to Louisiana
COST ($3650 Total)
Payable by VISA, Mastercard, or check ; Send all payments to Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry, 105 Bonnabel Blvd., Metairie LA 70005; $25 fee on all NSF checks; 3% service charge on each credit card transaction.

All payments are NON-REFUNDABLE; NO EXCEPTIONS; the contract with Catholic Travel Centre will govern all inclusions and exclusions for the travel package beyond what is listed in this brochure. Payment schedule

Package includes:
• economy class airfare
• ground transportation (motor coach airport transfers; public transportation during WYD events
• first class or superior tourist class hotel with twin/triple rooms
• 12 out of 30 meals
• World Youth Day registration fees and events
• Tour escort for all organized activities
• Priest as chaplain/spiritual director
 

Package does NOT include:
• Travel interruption/cancellation insurance (individual purchases separately)
• International medical insurance (individual purchases separately)
• Excess/overweight baggage charges
• Additional fuel surcharges
• Personal discretionary items such as gratuities, laundry, phones, etc.
• United States Passport
• Anything not explicitly listed as “included” in trip package
